We are sad to announce that Jay, the founder of WebClient, has officially shutdown WebServer. Meaning, unless modifications are made, WebClient will not work from now on.
WebClient launched January 16, 2000 as a replacement to Jay's very own ClientForums, WebClient was intended to be a very secure Forum/Chatroom Client.
In March 2000, ForumServer, the service that both ClientForums and WebClient ran on, would be rebranded to WebServer as apart of 2.0's release.
WebClient would continue on for years, but as 4.0 came out in 2008, more vulnerabilities would appear, and we noticed that and tried fixing it. But as we were approching the end of the 4.0 era and entering 5.0, we started coming across exploits we didn't know how to fix.
Jay noticed all the issues, and he knew the end was coming for WebServer, so after 15 years, WebServer would be closed down, basically ending WebClient aswell.
From us here at WebTeam, we say goodbye to these two. We hope all of our former users will find alternatives to WebClient. So for one last time, we thank you for reading this and we hope you understand. Goodbye for now.
